Tap on the speed multiplier button “1x” in the lower left of the podcast play screen. It will allow you to select through various play speeds (0.5x, 0.8x for slower speeds; 1.2x, 1.5x, 1.8x, 2x, 2.5x, 3x for faster speeds).
